Want to stay in and watch a show? Me too. I used to get excited to dress up and stay out late, but I won’t lie to you: Those days are over. Instead, streaming what’s new is now my idea of a good time. Heck, I even mark release dates in my calendar. What can I say? I love being a homebody.
With all of the streaming services now, it can be hard to keep up with what to watch and where to watch it. But, this month, the lineups are so good that you will want to ensure you have access to all of the platforms—or at least your friend’s passwords. These shows and movies are about to be the topic of conversation in The Everygirl’s #watercooler Slack channel, and I’ll be damned if I miss out on that.
Cancel your plans and get comfortable because it’s time to hit “Play.” Without further ado, here are some of the most anticipated shows and movies that are new on streaming this month.
Netflix
Hit Man
Glen Powell stars in this new action comedy movie about a professor who is moonlighting as a hitman for his local police department. When he finds himself attracted to a woman who enlists his services, he descends into dangerous, dubious territory.
Bridgerton Season 3, Volume 2
We’re on the edge of our seats, waiting for this one! Since the first half of Bridgerton season 3 ended on such a cliffhanger, part two is bound to be full of drama. In this installment, the ton is on the hunt for the true Lady Whistledown, which threatens to upend Penelope and Colin’s new engagement.
A Family Affair
If you loved The Idea of You, you will be a big fan of A Family Affair. Starring Joey King, Nicole Kidman, and Zac Efron, the movie follows a young personal assistant to an egotistical movie star. When she realizes that the actor is having an affair with her own widowed mother, things descend into hilarity.
Hulu
Erased: WWII Heroes of Color
This National Geographic docuseries sheds light on the often-overlooked and underappreciated lives of soldiers of color during WWII. Narrated by Idris Elba, each episode focuses on a different event during WWII, using archival footage and dramatizations to show the contributions of people of color in the battle.
Queenie
Based on the novel of the same name by Candice Carty-Williams, Queenie follows a young British Jamaican woman living in South London. After a messy breakup with her long-term boyfriend, Queenie struggles to attempt to fit herself into one of two cultures and find herself after her relationship.
Becoming Karl Lagerfeld
This historical drama charts the rise of Karl Lagerfeld in the 1970s fashion scene. As a 38-year-old fashion designer, he was still relatively unknown in the Parisian fashion world until he entered into a rivalry with Yves Saint Laurent’s partner Pierre Berge.
The Bear, Season 3
Are we ready for a new season of The Bear? Yes, chef! Though the teaser doesn’t give us too many specifics of this Emmy-winning hit from Hulu and FX, we can expect to see Carmy, Richie, and Sydney turning up the heat on the restaurant as they attempt to get a Michelin star and navigate the ins and outs of new business ownership.
Amazon Prime
The Boys, Season 4
The Boys is a tried and true fan-favorite series back for a fourth season on Amazon Prime. In this installment, the stakes are higher than ever. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office, while Butcher, with only months left to live, has lost his job as The Boys’ leader. The team has to work together to save the world before it’s too late.
My Lady Jane
Based on the historical YA novels by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows, My Lady Jane reimagines the tragic story of Lady Jane Grey in the 16th century. Though the real-life Lady Jane Grey was Queen of England for only nine days, in this series, she escapes execution and lives life on her own terms.

Presumed Innocent
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Skarsgaard, Presumed Innocent tells the story of a high-powered Chicago prosecutor. When one lawyer in the office is accused of the murder of a colleague, drama seeps into the day-to-day lives of the attorneys around him.
Fancy Dance
Lily Gladstone, you will always be famous! In this film, Gladstone stars as a concerned aunt who has been caring for her niece Roki on the Seneca-Cayuga Nation Reservation after her sister’s disappearance. When she risks losing custody to Roki’s father, the two embark on a mission to find the missing woman before it’s too late.
Max
Am I Ok?
Dakota Johnson plays a later-in-life lesbian in this new film on Max. Lucy is struggling to connect to other people—particularly men who are interested in her—and can’t quite figure out why. When she has a total breakdown and realizes she’s into women, she embarks on an awkward but endearing journey of self-discovery.
House of the Dragon, Season 2
It’s tiiiiiime! House of the Dragon is back with its second season, and we are so ready to see some dragons. This season will pick back up after the death of Rhaenyra’s young son Lucerys at the hands of his own uncle. As Aegon II and Rhaenyra fight over who is the true heir to the Iron Throne, revenge is in the air.
