Ronna McDaniel Makes Her Next Move, and It's So Predictable

We now know what former Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s next gig is, and nobody will be shocked. Like her high-spending predecessor Michael Steele, McDaniel will be enlightening America with her political insights over at NBC/MSNBC.

From the New York Times:

The hire adds a reliably conservative voice to NBC’s stable of political analysts. Ms. McDaniel is also expected to provide commentary on MSNBC, NBC’s left-leaning cable cousin and a network that former President Donald J. Trump and his allies often accuse of being an arm of the Democratic Party.

“Reliably conservative” in the vein of WaPo’s token “conservative” Jennifer Rubin? Or Ana Navarro, who purports to represent a conservative worldview on The View? Charlie Sykes, founder of The Bulwark, is also over at MSNBC.

And let’s not forget MSNBC stars Nicolle Wallace and Joe Scarborough, who were once Republicans.

It’s a very important moment for Ronna’s voice, NBC News SVP Carrie Budoff Brown said.

“It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team,” Carrie Budoff Brown, who oversees NBC News political coverage, wrote in a memo, adding that Ms. McDaniel would provide “an insider’s perspective on national politics and the future of the Republican Party.” Ms. McDaniel will be especially involved in the coverage of the 2024 campaign, including election nights.

Steele didn’t have kind words for McDaniel during his show just two weeks ago, telling her:

“Y’all need to check the unity conversation amongst yourselves first before you bring it to others… I was doing just fine til your behind showed up with … I was doing just fine. I was winning elections, right? What did you do? I mean, we made a public policy case on Obamacare. We made a public policy case on foreign policy. We haven’t made any public policy cases on anything.”

And that was just the beginning. Watch the rest below:

McDaniel’s first appearance will be on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.” Will Steele also be on that show? Pass the popcorn.
