'Gutfeld!' Claims Blockbuster Ratings Wednesday, but the Best Part Was Tyrus' 'No Cameras' Trump Moment

There are a couple of great results to share from Wednesday night’s episode of Fox News’ “Gutfeld!,” the popular, late night talk show starring Greg Gutfeld. Many readers know that the special guest was Republican presidential nominee and former president, Donald Trump. In case you missed it, RedState’s Nick Arama saved you the time and hassle of hunting down a copy of the show, and gathered the best clips from it in the piece below:

Trump Lights It Up on ‘Gutfeld’ in Funny and Endearing Appearance

Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention up top that Trump’s appearance helped earn the hour-long program its biggest audience ever since it began airing in 2021, boasting nearly five million viewers. To put that in perspective, it wasn’t just the top show of the night in primetime on a cable network; it overwhelmed every TV show being broadcast by any network.

Trump joined host Greg Gutfeld for the entire hour, participating in the program’s signature banter alongside Kat Timpf, Tyrus and “Outnumbered” co-host Emily Compagno. The former president was asked about surviving a pair of assassination attempts, the ABC Presidential Debate and criticism he receives from celebrities, among other topics.

“Gutfeld!” averaged 4.9 million total viewers and 744,000 in the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54. It was the largest audience “Gutfeld!” has drawn among both categories since it launched in 2021.

“Gutfeld!”‘s season debut also beat the season openers for “The Bachelor” franchise spin-off, “The Golden Bachelorette” and reality TV stalwart “Survivor,” on ABC and CBS, respectively, “making it the most-watched show in all of cable and broadcast primetime on Wednesday.”

On top of the win of the night’s programming, the show garnered the much valued demographic, adults aged 25-54, which is what advertisers care most about:

While Wednesday’s episode set records, “Gutfeld!” is regularly among the most-watched cable news programs in America and finished August as the No. 1 cable news program in the key demo.

Media analyst Joe Concha said in an X post about the show’s reaching the five million-viewer mark: “That’s an insane number.”

But there was a meaningful moment that you didn’t see on the program, a personal, real, “no cameras” moment that you won’t see on any social media post. It’s one that seems to have deeply moved Greg’s sidekick, Tyrus, and says so much about Donald Trump as a human being:

PA Cookie Poll Reveals Sweet Lead for Trump, but What People Are Telling the Bakery Drives It Home

In case you can’t see the post, he wrote above the special snapshot, which captured the memory of a lifetime:

The one thing I will say about Mr president @realDonaldTrump is he’s family first! he greeted my family like he knew them for years! my daughter you would have thought was his granddaughter l! they talked about her horses he told her a story just a wonderful moment he gave to my daughter no cameras it’s was just a real moment because he’s a real man … #nuffsaid

How sweet is that? The contrast between Trump, and Kamala, Comrade Tim, or most, other high-profile Democrats couldn’t be clearer. This isn’t something they could or would do. As we’ve seen time and time again, these craven people have to be scripted at all times, and shown to be compassionate in the cameras’ glare. Meanwhile, it’s hard to keep up with the real moments Trump keeps showing on the campaign trail. You can’t hide the kind of person you are–even when you’re running for the highest office in the land.
