What can you possibly write that hasn’t already been written about the Ford F-150? It’s not just a fleet icon, it’s an American icon. And once again, F-150 was named Truck of the Year by Automotive Fleet

The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the country for 42 years in a row. It has been awarded the Truck of the Year Trophy more than any other truck model, and the competition is stiff.

Ford F-150 Updates for 2024

In winning multiple Truck of the Year Awards, fleet managers cited the F-150’s dependability, ruggedness, fuel efficiency (particularly after the introduction of the EcoBoost engines), durability, and performance, and they cited Ford’s fleet support.

The last major redesign of the F-150, the truck’s fourteenth generation, came in 2021. It received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year.

For 2024, the base 3.3-liter V6 engine was replaced with a more powerful 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, while the hybrid PowerBoost model now comes at cost parity with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine.

Ford now offers an optional side-swinging tailgate that improves access to the bed when towing. The Pro Power Onboard generator system was made standard on hybrid models.

All trims now come with a 12-inch touchscreen.

“We are thrilled that the Ford F-150 has been named the 2024 Fleet Truck of the Year for the 10th time since 2003,” said Kevin Lieberum, F-150 and F-150 Lightning brand marketing manager for Ford Pro. At Ford Pro, we constantly listen to our customers to make the F-150 work even better for them — like bringing the hybrid back to XL.

“We’re proud to be the #1 commercial vehicle leader, a position made possible by the innumerable businesses and professionals worldwide who choose the F-150. There’s no greater honor than earning our customers’ trust and recognition, and we are deeply grateful for their continued support.”
