Every week, we will bring you the best performers across Europe’s top five leagues (English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish LaLiga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A) using the unique WhoScored ratings system.
The ratings are based on a comprehensive algorithm that uses Opta data during live matches, with more than 200 raw statistics, that gives us a single rating from 1-10 (1 being bad; 10 being excellent) weighted according to a player’s influence within a game.

Goalkeeper: Unai Simón (Athletic Club | La Liga) – 9.92 rating
Iñaki Williams may have scored the goals that secured Athletic Club’s 2-0 win at Getafe, but Simón was the hero on Friday night. Simón made nine saves, including a second-half penalty stop to deny Mason Greenwood, in a superb showing.
Centre-back: Yerry Mina (Cagliari | Serie A) – 8.09
Having failed to score all season, Mina has now netted in back-to-back league outings as Cagliari drew 1-1 with Lecce. The towering Colombia international also made 10 clearances and won seven aerial duels as Cagliari took another step towards consolidating their top-flight spot.
Centre-back: Thiago Silva (Chelsea | Premier League) – 8.17
Silva provided his first assist of the season as Chelsea eased past West Ham on Sunday, that coming from one of two key passes. The veteran defender was also on hand to make nine clearances and found a teammate with 98.7% accuracy from his 75 attempted passes.
Centre-back: Chris Richards (Crystal Palace | Premier League) – 8.10
Richards was key in Monday’s stunning 4-0 win over Manchester United. The USMNT star provided the assist for Jean-Philippe Mateta’s strike five minutes before the break and made four clearances, two interceptions and two tackles.
Right midfield: Noni Madueke (Chelsea | Premier League) – 9.69
Madueke maintained his good form of late with a goal and assist against West Ham. The winger struck with one of seven shots, while his assist came from one of six key passes.
Central midfield: Michael Olise (Crystal Palace | Premier League) – 9.17
Olise scored twice, to take him to nine goals for the season, as Crystal Palace eased past United. The France U21 international struck either side of half-time with two of six shots and he was solid in possession, too, returning a 97.3% passing success rate prior to his late withdrawal.
Central midfield: Harvey Elliott (Liverpool | Premier League) – 9.12
Elliott directly contributed to two of Liverpool’s four goals in their 4-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday. Elliott followed up his assist for Cody Gakpo’s goal early in the second half with a goal of his own in the 59th minute, those coming from respective returns of five key passes and four shots.
Left midfield: Callum Hudson-Odoi (Nottingham Forest | Premier League) – 8.88
Forest opened up a three-point gap to the relegation zone on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane. Hudson-Odoi netted twice from two of four shots and was unfortunate not to add an assist having made three key passes.
Striker: Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea | Premier League) – 10.0
Jackson was excellent as Chelsea brushed West Ham aside, netting twice from seven shots and providing an assist from four key passes. The striker also completed three dribbles, won one aerial duel and made one tackle as the Blues eased to a fourth-successive home win.
Striker: Erling Haaland (Manchester City | Premier League) – 10.0
Haaland became the second player to score four goals in a Premier League match this season as Manchester City trounced Wolves at the Etihad Stadium. The 23-year-old struck with four of eight shots as City maintained their title push.
Striker: Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco | Ligue 1) – 9.77
Monaco breezed to a 4-1 win over Clermont Foot on Saturday afternoon with captain Ben Yedder leading by example. The forward netted with two of five shots and provided one assist from four key passes as Monaco all but sealed second spot in Ligue 1.
