A construction team led by Chicago-based builder Clayco has broken ground on the $300 million Kali Hotel and Rooftop in Inglewood, California, according to an Oct. 22 news release

Sited in the shadow of $5.5 billion SoFi Stadium, the project is the cornerstone of Hollywood Park, a 300-acre mixed-use development that is the brainchild of Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke.

Designed by Chicago-based architect Lamar Johnson Collaborative, Kali will be branded as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection. The 300-room, 13-story hotel will contain 34 suites, along with a pool and yoga deck, spa, fitness center and nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The complex will have 315 parking spaces on the hotel’s ground and subterranean levels.

Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use development under construction in the western U.S., per Clayco, with Kali as the only hotel permitted within the Hollywood Park Specific Plan. In addition to its proximity to SoFi Stadium — home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and Rams — the structure is also adjacent to the YouTube Theater and within walking distance of the Intuit Dome — home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers — and Kia Forum. It’s located 4 miles from Los Angeles International Airport.

Hollywood Park broadly will include up to 5 million square feet of office space, an 890,000-square-foot retail district and up to 2,500 new residences, per the release. Outdoor-oriented districts will border the 12-acre Lake Park, woven through 25 acres of tree-lined public parks and open spaces.

“Partnering with such forward-thinking teams on this iconic property is in perfect alignment with our pursuit of excellence, and we’re thrilled to be contributing to a development that will leave a lasting legacy in Inglewood and Los Angeles,” said Bob Clark, Clayco’s founder and executive chairman, in the release.

The hotel will open in 2026, Clayco said in the release.
