Ayo Edebiri is no stranger to a suiting moment—in fact, the The Bear actress has been slowly but surely steadying herself as the next fashion It girl at least partially due to the sartorial choice. Last January, she stepped onto the Critics Choice Award red carpet in a white suit by The Row paired with round, silver sunglasses; back in September 2023, she attended the Proenza Schouler show in a tailored suit by the brand. It’s clear that she’s not afraid to experiment with her style, which was as evident than ever at the 2025 Golden Globe awards.
After taking home her first Golden Globe for her role in The Bear in 2024, she attended the 2025 awards in a custom Loewe suit that paid homage to the iconic look Julia Roberts wore to the 1990 Golden Globes, where she won for her role in Steel Magnolias. Edeberi’s suit—which included subtle ruching on the waist of the trousers—was styled with a matching button-down shirt and a 14-carat, gold-dipped tie. For glam, she opted for long, wavy locks in a new-to-her shade of red with a sleek middle part.
It’s no surprise that the 28-year-old has found herself on more best-dressed lists given her partnership with stylist Danielle Goldberg, the woman behind many of Saoirse Ronan, Greta Lee, Olivia Rodrigo, and Kaia Gerber’s best looks. As her and Edebiri have hit continuous fashion home runs, they’ve opted for no shortage of out-of-the-box attire. From the sculptural, leather Louis Vuitton gown she wore to the 2024 Emmys to the fresh-off-the-runway Loewe dress she wore to the 2024 BOF Gala, everything about her style manages to feel fresh, unexpected, and recognizably her.
Her suit also happens to be glimpse into a budding 2025 trend: a diversion from last year’s “office siren” craze in exchange for a more powerful, dramatic spin on workwear. Designers showed a slew of takes on suiting on SS ’25 runways, from Stella McCartney’s oversized renditions to the parade of elegant, tailored blazers at Tory Burch. While the two-piece set may be historically synonymous with office attire, Edibiri reminded us that its wearability extends far beyond the 9 to 5… and even onto the red carpet.
