Although Bill Maher is still holding onto his Trump Derangement Syndrome, he’s one of the few people in liberal media who is funny and often honest about the problems of the woke left and how far they have gone off the rails in their actions.
On Friday during his “New Rules” segment, he took some shots first at former President Donald Trump, but then he went there on the ugliness of the present-day left. It isn’t your grandfather’s Democratic Party anymore. He brought up how Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed Trump and how that drove the left into paroxysms of fury. He called out the left for their attack on Kennedy’s wife, Cheryl Hines, since she didn’t throw him under the bus because of his choices. Beyond this question of Hines, this truly nails the bullying nature of the left and their desire to control the narrative.

As our sister site Townhall reported:
“You want to know why I have a bug up my ass about the Left more than I used to; it’s s**t like this,” Maher said. “There’s an ugliness they never used to have—the liberal I grew up respecting; none of them are like this. Going after the wife? Even the Mafia doesn’t do that,” he added.
Maher rips apart actor Bradley Whitford, who was one of the loudest in the mob against Hines. Maher mocks these people who are “liberal in theory” — they’re cool with bullying if they’re the ones doing it: “It’s not bullying if I stick your head in the toilet.”
Maher pointed to some of the messages that Barack Obama and Bill Clinton had at the DNC against the nastiness affecting politics. And he joked maybe Whitford was in the bathroom when Obama and Clinton were talking about this. But it’s more than a little ironic since Obama and Hillary Clinton have been some of the most divisive politicians ever. They of course will talk about not being nasty, then turn around and do it themselves. And yeah, Bill, the Democratic politicians are awful too — Joe Biden attacking millions and calling them extremists, Hillary Clinton calling Americans “deplorable,” while others also called for defunding the police. But he is right that the left’s constant howling on social media is what gives “Liberal” the “ick.” Right now, that’s the ugly face of the Democratic Party.
Maher said they should quit acting like jerks because they don’t like Trump. That’s a good message. I would add, if the left is acting crazy, it isn’t Trump’s fault they’re being jerks, it’s their fault. But it’s this attitude that is driving the left into every greater insanity, and good on Maher for drawing a bead on it. The left is so insane at this point that even lifelong Democrats like RFK Jr. and Alan Dershowitz are fleeing them. My colleague Brandon Morse listed still more.

I’m Outta Here! ‘Disgusted’ Alan Dershowitz Announces He’s Ditching the Democratic Party
If ordinary Democrats can’t recognize this group that seems to have taken hold and are fleeing, imagine what the independents and others must think. As we get closer to the election, any normal person looking at all this has to be thinking, “We can’t vote for this crazy.”
