49ers First-Round Draft Pick Ricky Pearsall Shot in San Francisco for His Rolex

49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot and wounded during a reported robbery in San Francisco’s Union Square Saturday.

According to District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin, the first-round pick is in stable condition, and the suspect is in custody. Pearsall was targeted for his Rolex watch. There are unconfirmed reports that he was signing autographs at the time of the attack.

It happened before he’s even had a chance to play a down yet in the NFL regular season:

The 23-year-old Arizona native is one week away from his first NFL game against the New York Jets on September 9, although his status for that contest was already clouded by a shoulder injury. A wide receiver, Pearsall was taken with the 31st pick of April’s NFL Draft after playing collegiately at Arizona State and Florida.

As we’ve reported extensively, the once beautiful City by the Bay has become plagued by crime, homelessness, and open-air drug use, all allowed to fester under decades of progressive leadership.
